Catholic Guardian Services

Environmental design has great impact in our society and for those that experience it. It’s a powerful, essential part of our daily lives and affects how we live, work, feel and heal. We were engaged by our longstanding client Catholic Guardian Services to extend the design approach we created for the CGS Family Counseling and Wellness Center to other CGS locations – starting with the organization’s Grand Concourse site in Bronx, NY. Our goal was to support the visual brand style, identity, and sentiment we originally developed.

It was important to our client and to FGI that we carry forward a positive, nurturing, compassionate, and welcoming feeling, while incorporating elements that are engaging, friendly, and specific to the community and clientele that CGS serves at this location. The design includes a stylized representation of subway lines that run in and out of the Bronx, large-scale illustrative murals that showcases iconic symbols and street life in the Bronx and NYC, as well as imagery and content that portray the CGS culture. Our installation partners understood our expectations and helped us to produce large-scale murals and graphics that align with our aesthetic vision, the client’s goals, and CGS' mission – to provide help, create hope, and preserve dignity.
